Responsible Entertainment at Potand Platter
Responsible entertainment sits at the heart of how we host. Every service, from relaxed riverside lunches to intimate poker evenings in our private lounge, is designed to feel safe, measured, and genuinely hospitable.
Responsible hospitality in practice
We prioritise respectful service, attentive hosting, and an atmosphere where guests can unwind without pressure. Our team is trained to recognise when support is needed and to act with discretion and care.
Across all dining and entertainment, we encourage guests to pace their evening, stay hydrated, and speak with our staff at any time if they would like guidance or assistance.
Dining first. Poker at Potand Platter is an in-person social experience layered onto our existing hospitality, not a gambling destination.
Strict adherence to Australian law
All services, including cocktail offerings and private poker nights, strictly comply with current Australian state and national legislation. Identification may be requested at any time.
Guests must be 18 years or older to access our cocktail list or participate in any restricted activities, including invitation-only poker evenings in our private lounge.

Our bar program is designed around balance, quality ingredients, and responsible service. Every cocktail, wine pairing, and aperitif is poured with care.

Our staff are expertly trained in the responsible service of alcohol under Australian guidelines. We will always:
- Encourage moderation and mindful enjoyment of our wine and cocktail menus
- Offer refined non-alcoholic pairings, zero-proof cocktails, and low-alcohol options
- Provide water generously throughout your dining experience
- Decline service to intoxicated guests with discretion and care
We reserve the right to slow or refuse service where guest safety or comfort could be compromised.
Promoting guest awareness
Subtle table signage, menu notes, and gentle reminders from our team encourage guests to make informed decisions and enjoy drinks at a comfortable pace.
If at any point during your visit you would like assistance arranging transport, a non-alcoholic alternative, or a quieter space, simply let a team member know.
Offline poker, in person only
Social poker nights in a private lounge setting
Our invitation-only poker evenings are hosted entirely in person within Potand Platter’s private lounge. The focus is on conversation, hospitality, and shared moments over excellent food and drinks.
In-person poker only
Poker nights are held exclusively as physical events at our venue. There is no online gambling, remote betting, or virtual play of any kind, and no digital gambling accounts are offered.
Participation requires all guests to be present at Potand Platter and to be 18 years or older.
Safe, social environments
Each evening is hosted by professional, welcoming staff who maintain a calm, respectful atmosphere. Seating is limited to preserve comfort, privacy, and considered service.
The emphasis is on socialising, dining, and enjoying the rhythm of the game in a relaxed, adult setting.
Responsible entertainment focus
We do not promote poker as a way to win money or chase outcomes. Language, hosting style, and pacing are all designed to keep the experience friendly, measured, and conversation-led.
All participation is subject to venue rules and applicable Australian laws.
Important: If at any point poker or related entertainment no longer feels enjoyable, we encourage guests to pause, take a break, or step away entirely. Our team is always available to assist.
